Physical education for boys' gymnastics
at primary, secondary and higher schools

A rare school book for a trainer or gym teacher in the 1930's with very detailed gymnastic exercises with figures that seem strange today, depicted in many photos.

In those days, it was customary to train young people for later work and to strengthen their muscles. The exercises have names such as rowing, loading bricks onto the cart, pushing the full cart, washerwoman, rye or hay harvesting, the bricklayer, carpenter, fetching wood, felling wood, fire brigade, working in the garden ... and of course standard things like running, jumping, hopping, lying down, bending the trunk, kneeling, etc.
