12 Original LZ 129 Photographs

This is a very rare set of 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" souvenir photos called "LZ 129 under Construction".
The LZ129 was the Hindenburg, the great German airship built by the Zeppelin Luftschiffbau
in Friedrichshafen on the Bodensee in Southern Germany.

The twelve souvenir photos produced by the Lichtbildabteilung Luftschiffbau Zeppelin are contained
in the original Third Reich folder and contains photos 1 through 12. All have captions on the back.
The dining room and lounge are depicted as well.

The airship flew from March, 1936 until it was destroyed by fire 14 months later on May 6, 1937
while attempting to land at Lakehurst Naval Air Station in Manchester Township, New Jersey at the end
of the first North American transatlantic journey of its second season of service with the loss of 36 lives.
