The Poisonous Mushroom
Der Giftpilz by Ernst Hiemer is a story that begins with a German mother explaining to her child how mushrooms are somewhat like people - some are good and some are poisonous. The book then expands on the comparison by equating Jews to poisonous mushrooms.
In great detail and in extremely graphic pictures the book attempts to explain how no real German could ever tolerate Jews in Germany. In addition to a virulently anti-Jewish text written in simple German, there are many short poems mocking Jews and their physical characteristics.
