Account of a journey to Libya in North Africa in 1939, with colour photographs taken during the journey.
The author travelled to Libya in 1939 via Italy, visiting Tripoli, Suk el Giuma, the Berbers, the famous oasis town of Ghadames, the desert and the Tuareg. He captured his impressions using the relatively new Agfacolor technique. These are probably the first Agfacolor photographs of Ghadames. The same year, in the autumn, the Second World War began and the author was called up for military service.
