U-Boat on Enemy Patrol
This is an original picture book featuring men and vessels of the WWII U-Boat German fleet.
A number of U-Boat themed publications were produced by during the Second World War,
but to my knowledge, this is the only one that is a total picture book, with photo images on every page...
sometimes full page! This excellent item is an overview of the UBoat submarine Service, and does not specifically mention
U-Boats by ID number, Captain or crew member names.
[ Although most of the photos were taken on board the uboat of Kptlt. Mengersen U-101 ]
It does give a page after page glimpse into the life of U-Boat crews and their vessels.
The images begin with preparation for the voyage and leaving port....then continue with....on patrol,
engaging the enemy navy, everyday crew life, etc....then finally...returning home.
