A very beautiful photographic record of photographs (in rare Uvatypie technique).
The book is divided into pictures of holy sites and historical locations relating to the Old Testament (60%) and pictures relating to the New Testament (40%). Each picture is captioned with what it shows. Below this is a short Bible verse and further explanations with references to the Bible. All photos were taken by the famous photographer Ludwig Preiss at the end of the 1920s.
Depicted among others is Jerusalem, Hebron, Beersheba, Kana, Sichem, Megiddo, Endor, Jesreel, Gilboa, Bethlehem, Amman, Karmel, Jericho, Sunem, The Tabor, Haifa, Terebinthe, Caesarea, Samaria, Silwan, Juda Desert, Nazareth, Magdala, Tiberias, Safed, Nain, ruins of Kapernaum, Garizim, Jaffa, stone tomb etc.
The rare color photos by Uvatypie technology are of particular interest, and their quality and charm surpass the standards of process colour printing of the time. This color technology has been developed in 1918 by German Company Uvachrom, however with the destruction of the company in WW2, the technology died, since everything has been bombed and destroyed.
