6 Original Eastern Front WW2 Photographs from Orel
This is a very rare set of 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" PK photos depicting various winter scenes in Orel,
located on the Oka River, approximately 368 kilometers (229 mi) south-southwest of Moscow.
During the German-Soviet war, Oryol was occupied by the Guderian's Panzer group of the
Wehrmacht on October 3, 1941, burst from the south-west.
The photos were taken by German PK prior soviet liberation on August 5, 1943 during the Oryol strategic
offensive operation "Kutuzov" on the Oryol-Kursk Bulge. Where the city was almost completely destroyed.
